One of our biggest tips to successfully transforming jewellery is this: Trust Your Instincts.

The journey of transforming your old, unworn or inherited jewellery should be hugely exciting. It’s normal to feel a sense of anticipation and perhaps a few nerves, but if you have serious doubts or concerns, then listen to them.

It’s too important a decision not to.

Speak to us, perhaps re-visit your design, or take a little more time to think it through. Trust your instincts. And, if you’re not using Legacy (ahem!), and your jeweller is not happy to revisit your design to eradicate your doubts, then find another jeweller.

It’s important that you are confident that your jewellery transformation honours the memories of the past, whilst creating a piece that is perfect for your future.

You Have To Be Ready

Here at Legacy, we have advised a few ladies over the past few years NOT to go ahead with their designs. It is often an emotional experience linked to the loss of a mother, a father, grandmother, a sister… so it is completely understandable to feel apprehensive. If we get a strong feeling that you are not ready to remodel a piece that is hugely important to you, we will say so.

There is no rush. It is better to wait until you’re ready. You will know when it is the right time.
