An Extra Special Pendant Design
Ann’s Story….
Ann had inherited her mum’s wedding and engagement ring. The wedding ring had previously been her grandmother’s so was of extra special importance. She knew she would never wear the rings as they were, but wanted to create a pendant she could wear and feel connected to her mum and grandma again.
It was important to Ann that we re-use the gold from her mum’s wedding ring. She was also keen to consider adding in additional diamonds or gemstones into her pendant design.
So, we got to work with her design…..
We started off by creating a few pendant designs using only Ann’s one brilliant-cut diamond…
From simple drop style pendants to circular designs…
We also showed Ann a number of designs with
additional diamonds….
Ann eventually chose a drop design featuring one additional brilliant-cut diamond.
The Creation!
Work began. Ann’s mum’s wedding ring was melted down and refined, removing all impurities and air holes to ensure the gold was ready for being re-used in a new piece of jewellery. Her settings and the adjoining drop section were created before the setting work and polishing began.
The Completed Legacy Pendant
Ann’s pendant was simply beautiful and exactly what she was hoping to create. A wearable, significantly important pendant that Ann could enjoy and feel close to her dear Mum and Grandma again.

“I was uncertain what to do with my mum's wedding (previously my grandmother's ) and engagement ring after she died as they did not fit me. I took the decision to use the metal and diamond to make a legacy pendant. The whole process and experience of transformation was an excellent one….I was not disappointed and it reduced me to tears.
