How We Protect Your Jewellery
We understand that inherited and sentimental jewellery is irreplaceable. From the moment it arrives at Legacy until your finished piece is returned, every item is carefully handled, photographed, documented and protected. For clients elsewhere in the UK, our Legacy Postal Pack provides a clear and secure way to begin the journey.
The Safety and Security of Your Jewellery is Our Business
From the moment you leave your jewellery with us, its safety and security is paramount. We photograph every item and describe your jewellery comprehensively, from precious metal hallmarks and stamps to gemstone descriptions and assessed measurements.
Nothing is dismantled, unset or altered until you have approved your final design and quotation in writing. Instead, we create your designs based on the measurements of your diamonds and gemstones whilst in their existing settings. So, if you change your mind, your jewellery is returned to you intact.
Your jewellery is fully insured whilst in our care under our Jeweller's Block insurance.

Send Your Jewellery Safely with the Legacy Postal Pack
We work with clients from all across the UK and do this successfully and securely using a tracked Postal Pack.
How the Legacy Postal Pack Works
Be inspired by the exciting possibilities throughout your Discovery Call with Sarah.
Receive your Postal Pack and instructions.
Photograph and securely package your jewellery.
Complete the online Legacy form using the supplied QR code and upload photographs of the jewellery you are sending.
Take the parcel to a Post Office counter, purchase Royal Mail Special Delivery with the appropriate compensation level and retain your receipt.
Legacy confirms receipt as soon as your jewellery arrives, before photographing and documenting every item.
Your jewellery is assessed and your designs are prepared.
Nothing proceeds until you approve everything in writing.
Your postage cost is deducted from your Legacy invoice if you proceed with your Legacy design.

How Your Jewellery is Protected in Transit
We use Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm, providing full tracking and a signature on delivery.
Royal Mail offers different levels of compensation, with additional compensation available up to £2500. The correct level must be selected when the parcel is sent.
If the combined value of the jewellery you wish to send exceeds £2500, please do not post it until you have spoken with Sarah. We will discuss its value and agree the most appropriate arrangements before anything is posted.
Once your jewellery has been received by Legacy, it is carefully documented and covered under our Jeweller’s Block insurance policy while it is in our possession.
Returning Your Completed Legacy Jewellery
You are very welcome to collect your completed Legacy jewellery in person. However, if you prefer, we can arrange for your Legacy jewellery and any returned gemstones and unused items to be securely sent to you.
Your items are photographed, documented and individually listed.
Your jewellery is securely packaged in a beautiful presentation box.
Your jewellery is fully insured under our Jeweller’s Block insurance whilst in our possession and whilst in transit from us to you.
You will need to be available the next working day before 1pm to sign for your package.

Yes. when your jewellery is packaged correctly and the appropriate service and compensation level are selected.
We use Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm, which provides tracking and a signature on delivery. We have used this service successfully for many years.

No. Nothing is altered, no gemstones are removed from their settings until you have approved your design and paid your deposit.

Yes! We’d love to meet you in person.

If you cannot make it to Harrogate to collect in person, then we safely and securely package your Legacy jewellery and send it to you via Royal Mail’s Special Delivery. You will be required to sign for your package.
Our insurance covers your jewellery until it is back in your possession.
